Blue-stemmed Goldenrod - Solidago caesia
-
Blue-stemmed Goldenrod, also called Wreath Goldenrod or Solidago caesia, is a native perennial commonly found growing in light shade in woodland settings. A small plant, it grows from 1.5 to 3 feet tall and wide, forming a small clump over time. In late summer through fall, Blue-stemmed Goldenrod is topped with arching stems covered in small, yellow flowers. Goldenrod is an important late-season nectar source for bees and butterflies. Although tolerant of light shade, it also grows well in full sun. Mass with other native wildflowers, such as coneflowers and black-eyed susans.
