Obedient Plant 'Miss Manners' - Physostegia virginiana

Physostegia virginiana 'Miss Manners', commonly known as Obedient Plant 'Miss Manners', is a cultivated variety of a native perennial herbaceous plant known for its unique characteristic of flowers that can be pushed into different positions and they will stay in place, hence the name "Obedient Plant". It thrives in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soils, typically found in moist meadows, stream banks, and woodland edges of eastern North America. 'Miss Manners' blooms from mid to late summer, producing spikes of tubular, pink to lavender flowers that attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Growing up to 2 to 4 feet tall, it features lance-shaped leaves and forms dense clumps. This plant is ideal for cottage gardens, borders, and native plant landscapes, where it adds whimsy and pollinator habitat while tolerating a range of soil conditions.
