Woodland Phlox 'Blue Moon' - Phlox divaricata

Phlox divaricata is commonly called Woodland Phlox or Wild Sweet William. It blooms for nearly a month from mid to late spring with fragrant flowers in shades of pale lavender to blue. Blue Moon is an improved variety of Phlox divaricata with larger blooms. Woodland Phlox grows best in light to medium shade with rich, moist, well-drained soil. It will adapt to dry clay soils and is drought tolerant once established. This fibrous-rooted plant matures to about 1-2′ in height and will slowly re-seed and naturalize. Attracts early season butterflies. Grows well with native ferns and spring ephemerals.
