Description
Rudbeckia hirta, common name Black-eyed Susan, is a native biennial or perennial that found its way into American gardens many years ago. Goldsturm is a cultivar of Black-eyed Susan with a more compact size and larger flowers. This easily grown native tolerates most any soil conditions as long as at least half a day of full sunlight is available. The bright yellow bloom stands on long, leafless stems making them an excellent cut flower choice. Goldsturm is a great plant for pollinators and at the end of the season will offer an abundance of seed for birds. Plant Black-eyed-Susan in cottage or pollinator gardens along with native grasses and coneflowers.
