Description
Cephalanthus occidentalis, Buttonbush, is a large shrub averaging 3 to 10 feet in height, producing highly ornamental globe-shaped flowers. The flowers are an attractive nectar source for bees and butterflies. The seeds also provide food for birds. The plant grows best in moist to wet soils, even tolerating standing water. Adaptable to most soil types, provided ample moisture. Plant with cardinal flower and native hibiscus.
