Description
Echinacea purpurea ‘Powwow Wild Berry’ is a purple coneflower that produces large, deep, rose-purple flowers in late spring to summer and typically grows 2-3′ tall. Coneflowers as a group do well in most soil conditions and ‘Powwow Wild Berry’ is no exception. Bloom time is from late spring through the summer, with sporadic blooms until first frost. Each flower is 3-4″ across with overlapping downward arching rays of a deep, rose purple. Leave some of the spent bloom for winter food source for our birds. Plant alongside black-eyed susans and native grasses.
