Delphinium tricorne, common name Dwarf Larkspur, is an ephemeral herbaceous perennial with violet blue spurred flowers held on terminal spires reaching 1 1/2′ – 2′ in height. Dwarf Larkspur is native to rich moist woods and rocky slopes. Best grown in dappled shade, protected from strong winds and heavy rains as this may cause them to flop. Bloom time is generally in April to the first part of May. We wouldn’t recommend for anyone south of zone 7.
