Chrysogonum virginiatum, commonly called Green-and gold, is a low growing perennial American native which prefers to grow in medium moisture, well drained soils, in full sun to part shade. Evergreen in more southern climates, Green-and-gold forms foliage matts 3-4” tall, spreading to 18”. Yellow star shaped daisy like flowers appear from spring until fall on stems rising 6-8” above the foliage matt. Wonderful in shaded woodland gardens. Mix with Trilliums and False Solomon’s Seal.
