Description
Ratibida pinnata, common name, Gray-headed Coneflower prefers clay or sandy soils with average to medium moisture in full sun. A coneflower with a gray-green disk and reflexed bright yellow ray flowers, this species will reach 3-5′ in height 2′ of spread and present a long season of summer bloom. Flowers are up to 3″ across. Best used in mass, these plants are a valued pollinator and host plant for several species of butterflies.
