Description
Polemonium reptans is a perennial, herbaceous plant native to eastern North America. Commonly called Jacobs Ladder, this beautiful native grows in rich, moist woods and along streams where it forms mounds of pinnately compound leaves 12” to 18” tall, arranged like rungs of a ladder. Terminal clusters of bell shaped blue flowers in late Spring hang above the sprawling weak stems. Use Jacobs Ladder in shady woodland gardens along with ferns, bloodroot and native ginger.
