Obedient Plant, Physostegia virginiana, is a perennial native to a broad swath of North America. Typically growing in open meadows and prairies, Obedient Plant prefers full sun and average moisture. Although tolerant of some shade and excess moisture, plants may flop in these conditions. The plant has a long bloom season, spring through summer, and attracts hummingbirds to its pale pink to white flowers. Obedient Plant is an aggressive spreader so may be best in a dedicated site.
