Description
Southern Wax Myrtle, Morella cerifera, is a wispy, 6-12″, multi-trunked, evergreen shrub. The leaves, a light olive-green, have a spicy fragrance. Pale blue berries occur on female plants in the winter, and the bark is a handsome gray to sometimes white. This plant makes a great substitute to non-native Crepe Myrtles.
